Types of Diabetes
There are 4 types of diabetes :
- Types of Diabetes - Diabetes Type 1
Type 1 diabetes is resulted from the inability of the body to produce insulin. Insulin is the hormone that make the cells to open and allows them to be fueled by glucose. Diabetes type 1 is found on people below 40 and mostly aged below 14. Estimated 5-10% of Americans who are diagnosed to have diabetes having diabetes type 1.
The risk of having diabetes type 1 is increased risk to have serious complications, including heart disease, kidney damage, blindness and nerve damage.
- Types of Diabetes - Diabetes Type 2
Type 2 diabetes is resulted from the inability of the body to use the insulin they produce combined with relative insulin deficiency. Most of the people who diagnosed who have diabetes having diabetes type 2.
People with diabetes type 2 have increased chance to get many serious complication from heart disease, nerve damage, blindness, and kidney damage.
- Types of Diabetes - Pre-Diabetes
Pre-diabetes is a condition when the person have their blood glucose level are higher than normal, but not in diabetes range. You can take actions to prevent it before it become diabetes type 2.
- Types of Diabetes - Gestational Diabetes
About 4% of pregnant woman is affected with Gestational Diabetes, it’s a temporary condition but it is one of top health complication that a pregnant woman have to face. Women who has gestational diabetes might have their babies to get the fat baby syndrome or microsomatia.
Because gestational diabetes can have bad effects for moms and babies, treatment have to start immediately to control the blood glucose level to stay equal with normal pregnant women. The treatments includes meal plans, exercises, daily glucose testing and even insulin. Hopefully with these treatment will make the baby has normal size and lowering the risk of a caesarean section birth while also avoid future poor health of the babies.
After knowing the types of diabetes hopefully you start to taking precaution by doing exercises and controlling your meal.
